Tiny Magnetic Pets / Radio On (feat. Wolfgang Flür)

Could this year get any better for Dublin’s Tiny Magnetic Pets? Being part of the OMD tour, a headlining tour of their own, and now a single collaborating with the legendary ex-Kraftwerk percussionist Wolfgang Flür under their belt, I’d think it’s fair to say that 2018 has been cemented as a huge coming out part for the trio. Those of us “in the know” were already aware of the immense talent held within Tiny Magnetic Pets, but it’s quite a thrill to see their name plastered in the lofty bright lights for everyone to see. If there’s one thing better than great music, it’s sharing that great music for others to hear!

Speaking of new music, I think I mentioned that Tiny Magnetic Pets have a new single! As a band that already had a strong hold on the Krautrock and stripped down synthpop sound, the “Radio On” collaboration with ex-Kraftwork member Wolfgang Flür is a match made in heaven. It’s a single that sounds as new and fresh as it sounds rooted in the origins of synth based music. It’s a beautiful marriage that shows how far synthpop has come while respecting where it came from. It’s a balance that very few can manage, yet Tiny Magnetic Pets seem to traverse the precipice effortlessly.

If you’re a fan of old school synth hooks and pop that always satisfies (without that hollow aftertaste), Tiny Magnetic Pets and Wolfgang Flür have just put a bow on the end of the year. “Radio On” is available now on Happy Robots Records!
